Designing together
Mentallys, the result of inclusive co-design
The Mentallys platform was co-created using an intensive and innovative co-design process. Co-design is a collective creative approach applied to the entire product design process, involving both design experts and people with no design training. In the case of Mentallys, the people with no design training are patient partners, peer supporters, and healthcare professionals, while the design experts are design researchers, designers, and design students.

The emergence phase of Mentallys took place between 2020 and 2024, culminating in 2025 with a fully operational first version of the platform, which is currently being implemented.
Stéphane previously worked as a clinical psychologist in Paris, first as a volunteer in a public psychiatric service (Asm13), then as a psychologist in an intensive care and kidney transplant unit at Tenon Hospital. He was also a mental health caregiver for several years, which led him to personally experience many healthcare services in Quebec and France.
