CRIUSMM “Population Health” Day

A collective energy that drives Axis 2

During the “Population Health” day organized by the Research Center of the Montreal University Institute of Mental Health, Research Area 2 stood out for its promising engagement, rooted in collaboration, the sharing of expertise, and the development of concrete initiatives in support of research.

Throughout the day, discussions highlighted a collective, action-oriented dynamic, where ideas circulate and gradually transform into tools, collaborations, and foundational projects.

Among the highlights of this meeting was the gradual creation of an “Axis 2 toolkit,” designed as a shared, evolving, and accessible resource intended to support members’ daily scientific work and promote the pooling of resources and knowledge.

The day also served to highlight the importance of ethical guidance in research projects, thanks to easier access to various resources that allow for the smoother integration of ethical considerations into scientific approaches.

Axis 2 was also pleased to welcome two new regular members, Audrey-Ann Deneault and Roxanne Sicotte, whose expertise in youth issues enriches the team’s discussions and work.

This collective effort at times resembled the functioning of an ant colony: a system where every contribution, however small, contributes to a larger endeavor driven by the group’s intelligence, coordination, and the complementarity of expertise.

In this same spirit of collaboration, the Ethics Committee of the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal also contributed to the day, supporting this shared commitment to strengthening ties among the various stakeholders in mental health research and innovation.

This event demonstrates that Axis 2 is in motion, where collaborations are strengthening, initiatives are taking shape, and collective reflections continue to fuel the development of promising projects.
