A Look Back at the First Midi-Allié of 2026: Technology, Youth, and Mental Health

Share

On January 22, the AXEL Centre and the Signature Biobank were pleased to host their first Midi-Allié event of 2026, bringing together in-person and remote participants to discuss a central question: How far can technology really take us in improving mental health and addiction care for young people?

On this occasion, Stephanie Coronado-Montoya delivered a rich and nuanced presentation on the concrete contributions of digital technologies to care for young people facing mental health and addiction challenges.

Through a discussion grounded in evidence-based research and clinical realities, she highlighted the possibilities offered by digital tools to support access to care, personalize certain interventions, and strengthen mental health practices. The presentation also addressed current limitations, implementation challenges, and the conditions necessary for the ethical, relevant, and sustainable integration of these technologies into clinical settings.

The discussion that followed reflected the growing interest in digital innovations in youth mental health, as well as the importance of maintaining a critical and human-centered perspective on their development and use.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, both in person and online, for your questions, insights, and active participation, which help bring the collaborative spirit of Midis-Alliés to life.

Thank you also to all the teams involved in organizing these meetings, which provide genuine opportunities to learn, connect, and innovate together around current issues in digital mental health.
